Organization access troubleshooting

Use this guide when a member cannot see the organization, project, Knowledge source, developer resource, or feature they expect.

Organization missing

Confirm:
  • user is signed into the intended Starfire account
  • invitation was accepted
  • membership still exists
  • organization has not been deactivated/deleted

Invitation does not work

Check invitation state and recipient identity. Expired or cancelled invitations should be replaced with a new invitation rather than reused.

Member is in organization but feature is missing

Check effective access layers:

Project/Knowledge missing

Organization membership does not guarantee every resource is visible. Check project/resource-level access and inherited permissions.

Cannot invite another member

Check:
  • inviter permission
  • seat/member capacity
  • organization plan
  • pending invitation policy
  • billing/seat reconciliation when applicable

Developer resource missing

Confirm the application/key belongs to the organization, the member’s role allows developer administration, and organization Developer Platform policy is enabled.

Billing shown under wrong context

Personal and organization billing are separate. Confirm which context initiated checkout before changing subscription state.

Offboarded member still appears to have access

Review independent resource shares, developer credentials, and active sessions/integrations. Removing organization membership is one layer, not proof that every independent credential has been revoked.
Do not solve a narrow project permission problem by granting organization owner or Control Center administrator access.
